I'll never forget seeing the stat that less than 1% of the population in the US has run a marathon, that stuck with me throughout college. And even though I had never run more than 5 miles, after graduating I made a commitment to complete a marathon. A year later I was crossing the finish line with 50,000 others at the NYC Marathon. I realized then that this was not only a physical feat but an emotional and mental one as well, and that the lessons and mentality you learn and adapt through training and racing can and will apply to every part of your life. I quickly became addicted to the feeling of setting "crazy" goals and pushing myself to make it happen. So I thought to myself "What's next?" and the first thing that popped into my head was "Ironman" and so I started on that journey.
In 2018 I completed my first 70.3 in Augusta and ever since then I've made endurance sports a lifestyle. in 2021I competed in Garmin Unbound Gravel, Belgian Waffle Ride (BWR) SD, BWR Asheville & Ironman Washington 70.3. Also as a BIPOC athlete, I know how much representation means to me personally, and seeing people like myself has inspired me to push forward and help inspire others to join in on these amazing life-changing events.
