Self-doubt is a lie. So many of us have so much junk in our heads and we need to figure out which thoughts serve us well and which ones don’t. There have been so many times that I’ve aimed for lofty goals, even though I really didn’t expect that I’d be successful - it’s taken a leap of faith to get out there and do it, and more often than not I surprise myself with my accomplishments. Do your homework and prepare yourself to the extent possible, but when it comes to race day, it’s time to put any concerns about preparation and training aside and focus on the present. About me - I’m an extrovert and love biking because it gets me around other people. I’m not terribly fast, but I love racing bikes. This past year I had the honor of being a volunteer coach for the high school girls mountain bike team; it was awesome to see them growing and making progress.
